WOMEN ONLY TREKS
Peak Explorations is founded by Brown Gal Trekker, who is an avid solo female trekker. In her journeys, she met courageous female explorers who braved the solitude of the trails. Inspired by the experience, BGT wrote the piece, Don't Date a Girl Who Treks, which has been published on Huffington Post, Dave's Travel Corner and WHOA Mag. Peak Explorations endeavors to promote women from all walks of life to trek around the world. We intend to bring them there through an exclusive WOMEN ONLY trekking trips to Nepal, Peru, Mongolia among a few others - a project that is currently underway. Peak Explorations is also working to ensure that our women-focused treks are operated by local trekking companies owned by women and/or inclusive of female guides, porters and staff to empower women globally as we collectively change the landscape of trekking both on the trail and outside of it. Subscribe to our newsletter to learn more about our upcoming women-focused trips!
In the meantime, check out our regular treks below!
Also, we are doing a fundraiser event for our film project to promote women in the outdoors. See the fundraising campaign HERE.

KILIMANJARO (NORTHERN CIRCUIT)
PERU'S AUSANGATE & PACCHANTA RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
MAY 7-13 (7 DAYS)
Leave the crowd behind on the Inca Trail for a good reason. This is a true gem of an off the beaten path in Peru with an overview of the Andean life in a remote section of the Andes mountains. Ausangate is majestic with the views of glacier peaks, blue lakes and the roaming herds of alpacas and llamas. As a highlight, you get to experience the very rarely visited Pacchanta Rainbow Mountain! The trek itself is a tremendous challenge for an experienced hiker as you cross over passes above 5000 meters and spend nights in tents at close to freezing temperatures. But the entire experience is guaranteed to be unforgettable without a doubt. Acclimatizing by doing the Inca Trail trek prior is highly recommended and can easily be combined together.
NEPAL'S EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK
May 2018 (16 DAYS)
The Everest Base Camp affords you views of Everest and her sister peaks as you start from the lowlands and end up in the infamous base camp itself. A side trip to KalaPattar is the best view in Nepal of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Along the way, you will immerse yourself in Sherpa villages, their culture and ways of living. The area is also highly spiritual which is clearly demonstrated by prayer wheels and flags you'll see along the trail. Nothing compares to seeing the highest mountain in the world in person. A must do in one's lifetime!
